The Language of Design On the evening of Saturday, April 27th, Eric Daum was presented with a Bulfinch Award for the design of the Private Chapel by the New England Chapter of the ICAA at the Harvard Club in Boston. In his acceptance speech, he commented that the launch party for the New England Chapter had occurred in 2005 at that very same place and that he was honored to have been a part of the organization from its inception. He thanked the client for the opportunity to work on such a unique and inspiring project; the builder, KVC, and especially the Project Manager Jackson Mello, and Site Supervisor, Jack Griffin whose knowledge and careful stewardship of the building during construction were essential for the successful completion of the project. Also thanked were Anthony Catalfano for pushing the design forward; Kenneth Castellucci & Associates; Coldspring Granite; and Foster Reeve, ornamental plaster who also received a Bulfinch Award for the execution of the plaster dome.
